Siemens says on their website: "The SyncStation sets up a connection to the PC and charges the phone at the same time." The box says the same thing.
I bought the SyncStation for its ability to simultaneously sync and charge.
You can see the description here (http://www.siemens-mobile.com/cds/frontdoor/0,2241,hq_en_0_42751_rArNrNrNrN,00.html)
It doesn't operate this way. The S65 "Status" screen recognizes it as a DCA-540.
My particular DSC-600 base has only _one_ Siemens connector port -- not two -- so there is no alternative way to use a charger and USB cable at the same time.
If you look in the Windows device explorer you can see that the base is drawing 98mA of power from the USB port (out of a max of 500mA).
Anyway, Siemens is advertising this product as being able to charge and sync at the same time when connected to a PC. It's not.
Can anyone tell me what the _real_ capabilities are of the DSC-600? Is this a firmware issue or is this simply poor advertising?
Thanks,
