i'll be going to a remote area with no communication lines except by cellphone, and i'll be there for several days . is it possible to connect to the internet via the m65? what do i need to have and how do i go about it?
btw, i've got my phone, a laptop with modem/winxp prof, a datacable and mpm.
i've been wanting to find out how to do this... thanks for any help :)
in real life, i have never tested.. inet connection/browsing,
with laptop, desktop connected via GPRS modem.. though Gprs/wap works fine in my M65
i think that m65 can handle the 'dialup', it seems to have built-in gprs modem,
it's written down in M65 manual, though very shortly..
- downloadable manual [ A31008-H7150-A1-1-7619_fug.pdf ]
bookmarx -> 'Mobile Phone Manager' (page 112, 113 )
tharefore your pcmci modem is not needed ... IMO
If you have MPM, run on MPM launcer, go to Extras -> GPRS MODEM and find help menu
find out:
[+] GPRS modem (from left menu)
-and follow the options for setup
Unfortunately the info provided, is for w2k and SX1 phones,
but i assume, it work on XP and x65 either, if gprs profiles is correct
i.e You can connect with phone only.
first, i do not have dca-510, but only serial dca500,
second, this seems to need some more specific and general reconfiguration, in my current putter and in windows,
- i have other modem connected to that comp, so cannot run tests
- as it requires only one modem installed
PS! i do not know is this possible to to use M65 as a only dialup device,
like it was possible with older e.g. Nokia handsets, with special cable equipment,
special dialup account, (for special fee), depends on areal/local network provider,
to go with this data connection :( ,what i currently don't have
i remember, this was possible, but it was too slow and too expensive ..
:( not much help, sorry, but wish the best luck!
anyway if You'll get it working .. let me know about details
TIA
Regards!
