M65 Is there a filesize limit to transfer from M65 to Comp.

Is there kinda file size limit, that can be transfered
from Phone -> to-> computer? though it works fine vice-versa
(i current tested maximum file 1.12 MB )
smaller files, lower <=200 Kb seems to have no such problems

Does somebody also meet this?
.. I try to explain my situation as close as i can ..

Sys: Win XP PRO (Sp1) P4/3Gh.
No resident AV running / No Xp Firewall

Phone: M65 phone Fw16 / free memory ~3.21 MB / not branded
dataCable DCA-500 serial (optional, OD tool)

FROM M65 to comp. The errors occured, when i try to transfer:
"Error Occured ...connction lost"
using MPM Manager or- its Phone Explorer feature, accssed from Windows

1)- 1,12MB size movie.3gp
2)- Selected Folder /sound, or Pictures, ..etc
**3)- MPM backup - cannot finish if all folders is selected
- - - -
NO Errors FROM Computer ->to-> M65,
with the same 1.12Mb, *.3GP movie file, pictures, or games
even, if i transfer selected directory or multiple files ..

also
NO Problems to playback that movie 1.12 mb 3GP on M65 player ,
no problems with Games or 3D games,
(3D Rally or Sea battle..etc.. anyway these are optional for me, not play them, but they are working, just for test purpose)

So far, nothing other problem's since. -FW update/downgrade works
(used both, Service's or update's) 04-> 08->12-> 08-> 12-> 16 /
fw 16 is my current, and
i did not made this file tranfer test with my earlier Fw. versions ..
and currently i feel taht fw16 is good enough .. don't wanto go bacwords now ..

PS!
I launced OD tool, just for any test reason, and tried all above again,
but same results, it stuck with 1.12 mb

!! No error/problems to transfer this same file Via IRDA from phone to Computer !!

wait a minute... there's a version 16 upgrade for m65? :shock: where??? is there an upgrade for variant a700, or i can use any variant (as i can make do with the english language, which is included in all variants)?

you're lucky to be able to transfer 200kb files from the phone to the computer using mpm... how do you do it? i get an error message on lost connection even with 40kb transfers :cry: that's why i can't make a full backup of my phone...

i still haven't started using s25@once as an alternative, which is said to be lots better than mpm.

Hmm How i do it .. not so sure .. it just works since i bought Original siemens DCA-500 serial cable.. , though i

cheked "chinese" cheep fake .. it did not work :(

i have it plugged in serial port (by OD Tool) it is - com0, com1 / speed is shown 115200 -
MPM connection show me - it is set manual / COM1, COM ..
in Windows device manager PORTS (COM&LPT) is XP Pro default setup - is with defaults settings ..
not tested any others ..

BTW, changed few, speeds to higher / lower but that did not help me with my problem above - .. as i have changed

also in MPM , like automatic or manual -- though manual seemsto be more stabile ..

- Copying .. ? - in windows exporer .. on left tree , i click the Siemens Device /(and without OD tool loaded) -by

default - it opens
Siemens Device: ..\DATA \ folder from phone, in explorer right window, select file --copy -- paste into other

dir on comp / other explorer window ..

Some AV or Firewall may make problems - but not seen any difference
with NOD32 and sygate .. - I.E i disable all this and it did not solve
my 1.12 Mb file to transfer from PHONE - to Comp.
*though it works on otere direction .. no deal wit AV or Firewall..


Yes! i am sure about FW16 - its not Update, but service.exe -
i got it from russian siemens club, file name - m65_160400.xbz_service.exe

i had previously FW12 Variant A390 and it maintained the same number after service ..
Btw! There was, and also there is lots of other East EU languages, but i dont care, I use anyway only Eenglish..

Only issue - that I lost, is the *#05# -- Operating time counter
this was reseted 0.. - an i personally dont care ..
but anyway cc-Monitor remembers the battery status and charge history ..

So its about Your own to load it or not ..

Yes it's true.. i can transfer from Phone to comp 201 KB files without error,
but i have not had time to sort out, what is the maximum size? if it exist ? -- or is there something else ? i cannot clear out ...

- i cannot FULL Backup it neither now FW16, nor EARLIER(fw12)-
-with MPM, if i select all folders from right window ..

I can do the backup by leaving DATA folder UNCHECKED !
but this will backup only simcard - book and Phone- Adressbook and some stored mails or so .. not sure ...
anyway - the backup *DAT file wiil be created and sved on defined dir on comp., but it is ~100KB size -- open it with Notepad.. You'll see phone book, just a lil "fuzzy" look due not aligned order-

IMO this is not backup, but bullsh:t ,sorry, as i have ~7MB - total data in phone ..
- but, maybe? .. this is done just for purpose, who knows?, to avoid
getting all data and re load it to other unit..
as it may make "all so called illegal" operations much easier ..
like Full Flash, or de-Brand similar handsets.. just backup one unit and rreload into other similar .. or send via net to friend LOL
No needed any deep surgery in EEP ROM or etc.. or deleting shutter sound from hidden disks :)
not sure, OK dont mind, this is my opinion.. i could be wrong..
i do just compare the situation with computer backup ( gosting, disk imaging etc other migration tools )

and this works pretty good there !
