EF81 Phone random powers off

Hi , I have the following problem:

I have bought a EF81 because I have read some good reviews and I love siemens.
Now when I got the phone I flashed it from fw 27 to fw58.
First I got the error of "to many invalid NV-items" and also lost my network connection. After I had restored the NV-items everything worked fine. Everything but the phone powered-off himself several times a day.
I have found the bug: Most of the time it is when I close the lid, other times when I recieve an sms.
I tried some other firware versions to like fw 58 ru and brd handel, fw 48 official and T-mobile. The last thing I can try is the old fw 27.
But then I lose the speed gain and some other nice stuff.
Anybody an idea what can be wrong?
Or should I try to find a repair center?

.. i am not an expert... but on the whole with the nv story I have the impression the update process didn't go well.

You should repeat the update process, but be sure to:
- take battery out for 2 minutes then install battery
---- DO NOT POWER ON THE PHONE!!!
- just plug data cable in
-- and start update process
-- wait untill your update software detect the EF81 ---this is really vital!! NEVER DO POWER ON THE EF81!!

BUT REMEMBER DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTON on the EF81 TILL THE UPDATE PROCESS is FULLY OVER!! It is possible that the phone will be restarted one or two times, BUT NEVER TOUCH ANY KEYS even if you SEE THE PIN DIALOGue!!

Just stay cool till the whole update process is really finished.

---I repeat again - do NOT power on the EF81 after insterting battery!!

With al the other flashupdates there is no problem with the nv-items, only with fw 58. Now I have found a 3gswup template restore , but it tells me that there is no partitiontable , but he continues.

I am sorry I do not know what the problem is.

by the way, firmware 27 is very old, around the time of Mai/June 2006. Firmware 39 appeared in June 2006. I do not know what will happen if you make a giant leap from 27 to 58.

The last official firmware for self update is 48. So it is a good idea to use the official firmware 48 in the correct variant, like "brd-standard-retail".

I will give it a try.
First I'm going to flash it back to v27 and see if the problem stays. If not I will have to stay with fw27.
