Open Disc Issue

Hi all,

I just bought a Data Cable (510) for my S65. I wanted to manually "turn off" the camera sound. So I downloaded Open Disc and try to use it. But every time I try, I get an error message saying that OD could not open the serial port. My computer is under Windows XP Pro SP2. Do you have any idea or clues ?

Hi,
did you install the drivers for the data cable ? Wich virtual COM Port is assigned to the Cable ? If unsure check the Settings in the Device Manager.
It worked fine on my XP Home SP2 with 510 or IR.

Yes, I did install the driver. Then reboot the PC. The COM Port used was the 13 (defined in the Device Manager) and speed 115200 bauds.

I don't understand why it doesn't work ?

Does the MPM Software work ?
On the other Hand you could try a lower COM Port (i remember slightly that there was something about high com ports, try 8 or less) or setting the Speed to 9600 Baud.
The speed settings in the OD tool should be the same as they are in the device manager - i don't know if this really matters 8)
