hi. i'm an m65 user and a newbie here. i'd like to ask what the forum rules are, if any, in english :) ... i might post something that's not allowed.

there is a lot allowed to write over a lot of things so no problem of discussing debranding an things like that. mods will advice you if you don't use the forum search or if you do doublepostings.

thanks!

1. i'll be having some trouble searching in the forum as i don't know what "german" buttons to choose :lol: so hopefully the mods can accommodate my questions... may i ask what is the english translation for these german words?:

suchen
mitgliederliste
benutzergruppen
private nachrichten
absenden
vorschau
antwort schreiben
thema-uberblick
nachricht
neues thema
antworten

2. how do i increase the volume of the message tone without using longer tones?

3. i got this from profile.pd

000056:T:Switch_On_Melody_0=2:\Default\StartupMelody.wav

what does 2 stand for? i notice profile.pd uses either 0 or 2... is it related to volume?

4. i know nothing about patching... is there a tutorial somewhere on things i need to have and on how to do it? are there patches already available for the m65? can the patches for m55 be used for the m65?

5. how can i change the default sounds with high volume? i tried changing the default message sound but the resulting volume is too low.

6. is there a way to remove the 2-line network provider name? it clogs up the display.

that's it for now. thanks again!

Hi 88raymond and welcome on board

First the translation:

suchen = search
mitgliederliste = memberlist
benutzergruppen = usergroups
private nachrichten = private messages
absenden = submit
vorschau = preview
antwort schreiben = post reply
thema-uberblick = Thread Overview
nachricht = message
neues thema = new thread
antworten = reply

btw. Edit your Profile an change the language from German to English, then you wont have problems anymore

4. What do you mean with Patches? There`ll be a new Firmware released soon, then you can update your Phone.

6. To delete the Operaterlogo you need to replace the Operator-Picture in your Phone with a transparent gif-image

To to this you need a software like s25@once and a Datacable like the Original Siemens DCA-510 (look at eBay, but buy a original one. Nonames wont work) to browse the Filesystem of your Phone.

If you have any further questions, look at the CX65 Forum (http://forum.modopo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20), cause this two Mobiles are nearly the same

great board... lots of helpful forumers around :)

i'm able to change my profile to english (thanks a lot for the advice), now i wouldn't need to guess anymore what buttons to click :D

btw, i'm using mpm with an rs-232 datacable, i don't know which of the two leads to frequent disconnections during file transfers. :evil: is s25@once a better option than mpm?

i've been browsing around the cx65 forum... lots of interesting topics there like changing menu icons and themes. i already tried changing menu icons and it's working... at least my phone's still alive :wink:

will try changing to the s65 icons once mpm "finds" the phone... it's been more than 30 minutes since it could not connect the phone to the pc :evil:

Better?!? s25@once is a million times better than the MPM. Just try it, the demo has only a few restrictions > www.s25atonce.de

thanks, pb.joker, but i'm lost. i get an error message, "cannot find server" :? i just clicked on the link you gave... am i doing something wrong?

... and it's more than an hour that my phone's not detected by mpm :x

the link to http://s25atonce.de is working perfectly so maybe you have to try it again.

somehow, i can only access the english translation, which i got from google... and i'm downloading the software now. i hope the demo version outlasts the phone :wink:

and i do look forward to it being a million times better than mpm :) :) :)

...after a long while trying to get mpm to connect to the phone, i was able to install the s65 menu icons... they look much better than before :D i sure am glad oakdesign told me about this forum.

btw, i'm on fw12. will a firmware upgrade remove all these things that i changed?

- remove camera click
- change menu icons

*** just got done installing s25atonce... and everything's in german (i copied all the help contents. now where can i possibly have it translated?)... what does the program do, btw? and how do i get to do file transfers from and to the phone?

Hmm, i dont know whether the menu icons get lost if you update your firmware.

The Cameraclick should be disabled i think, but i'm not sure.

But to change these two things back you'll need only two min. so i think it doesnt matter at all

two minutes?!? it's more like a lot of tries that would take me half a day, with the famous mpm.

i've got to get s25atonce working right away then!!! the question is when will i ever understand how to use this german program? :wink:

yeah... it'll be good to learn german. thanks for babelfish... now i know where to look in google for translations. too bad i can't have everything translated in one go...

oakdesign

what do you mean with one go? to translate a website you can enter the url into babelfish and then you can browse the entire site and it will be translated

i think he'd linke to translate the helpfile from the s25@once in one rush, not the website

yes, that's what i meant.

i don't understand what oakdesign said... does this mean i can use babelfish to read, in english, a german website? i apologize for being waaaay behind the times :)

this means i will soon be able to understand the russian siemens site! cool, hehehe...

1.) go to http://babelfish.altavista.com/

2.) Type in the website's url in the text field "Translate a Web page", choose the langauge and then you are able to browse a whole website in another language.

this forum, translated "german to english" looks like this: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.s65.info&lp=de_en

but please remeber that if you try to login on this translated page, your login data will be sent to http://babelfish.altavista.com :idea:

thanks! i'll try this out soon... btw, if babelfish gets my login data, does it mean that babelfish can get my email address and soon i'll be seeing more spam mail? bummer... :x

i just upgraded to the new fw12 from the siemens site, and the changes i previously made to the config files remain intact. and after changing some settings, my videos can be 1 minute long (remaining video recording length is visible now, depending on my phone's remaining memory, i think)... yahoo!!!

I just meant that babelfish could theoretically get your login data because it will be sent to their site first and then forwarded directly to my website.

dear moderators/administrators:

is it all right if i put the german helpfile in this website so i can use babelfish to translate it? i can't see any other option. i have no idea yet on how to operate s25atonce... thanks!
